Tutorial #1

This coloring was used on my recent icon post here.

We'll be going from  to  in just 4 easy steps!
(Made in Photoshop CS2)

Get your base. My suggestion is not to blur nor sharpen at all, not even at the end.

01. Duplicate your base (ctrl+J) and set it to Screen 80%

02. Duplicate your base again, drag it to the top, and set it to Soft Light 80%

03. Create a new Selective Coloring layer (layer > new adjustment layer > selective coloring) and put in these settings:
Reds: -100, 0, +20, +4
Yellows: -10, +8, +12, +54
Cyans: +75, +33, -42, +100
Whites: 0, 0, 0, +4
Neutrals: +6, 0, +6, -8

04. Our final step! Create a new fill layer (layer > new fill layer > solid color) with this color: 3f2a00. Set that layer to Exclusion 80%

And you're done! See? Wasn't that easy?

Comment me with your results, I'd love to see them! ^^
